We love beach photography, especially for children and families.  It is such a great place to have portraits done and to take a few candids like the one above.  There are a few considerations for you when having your portraits made on the beach.

What will the beach session be like?

• The beach is almost always windy.  Ladies be prepared for blowing hair.  If you don't want your hair blowing in the photos, please tie it back.  we will generally try to position you so that your hair is being blown away from your face. 
• It will be sandy.  You should choose casual slip-on shoes, sandals or flip-flops.  It is great to be barefooted while on the beach.  Beach photos are casual.
• Probably sunny.  While we try to schedule sessions when the sun is low in the sky, the beach offers little shade.  We do our best to position you so that the sun won't be a huge factor, but sometimes that is not possible. 

What should we wear?

• Khaki and White:  Very popular.  Looks great on the beach.  But, have you done it before?  Perhaps different colors if you have.
• Colors:  I think that colors look great on the beach.  Because the beach has a neutral look to it, bright colors like red or blue can look great.
• Coordinate with family:  I think that matching outfits are nice, as are coordinating outfits.  Some families choose complementary colors which look great.
