Five tips for choosing the right photographer for your wedding

1. Style.  This first point is the most important one.  Your wedding day is once-in-a-lifetime and choosing a photographer that most matches your desires is very most important.  Nothing even comes close to this point.   Especially not price.  If you find the "perfect" photographer for you, then book them without hesitation.  These pictures will become part of your family history and are irreplaceable.
2. Equipment.  An important question to ask your photographer is what type of equipment they use.  Not just brand, but also the models of cameras they use.  This is important because Nikon and Canon make so many different levels of camera that many folks cannot tell them apart.  You really want your wedding photographer to be using a camera that is pro-quality.  Also the lenses that they use will make a huge difference in the quality of picture. 
3. Personality.  We have a rule in our family.  If we don't feel comfortable with something, then we tell each other and we won't do business with them.  So, meet with the photographers that you might choose.  If you don't like their personality, then don't hire them.  Remember, the photographer will be with you when you are getting ready, after your ceremony and right there in all the action.  You should like them.
4. Packages.  What kind of packages do the photographers offer?  Are they clearly defined or will it end up costing you a lot more after the wedding is over to get any photos?  Most of the photographers in Charleston, SC that I have personally worked with are very upstanding.  But I have heard from more than one bride some various horror stories. 
5. Price.  Note that price is listed last?  That is because it is important, but not MOST important.  Photographers in Charleston, SC vary in price and quality. Do your homework and you will end up with the perfect photographer that is just right for you.
